Hi all, I have been working on making a home made cnc bender. Attached is a picture of the bender. Was looking for any feed back from others. I do not have much experience with this type of machine. Most of my ideas came from watching videos on you tube. I will be bending stainless tubing that is about 1/4" in diameter with a wall thickness of about .025" The design basically uses a nema 34 stepper motor with a 16:1 gear reduction and then a 3:1 belt reduction to drive the "bender". I am using a 5C collet to hold the tube that will automatically be opened and closed with an air piston. I was going to use linux EMC2 to control the bender. I have some experience with this program. I am not sure how to make the "rollers". Do I make them the same diameter as the tube, a little oversized... Thanks for any help |

my guess is the radius of the die should be max material condition plus .005" for that size tubing. And I guess clearances would advance somewhat as the tube size increases. very impressive work! im cnc removal, not forming. not my paridigm. jim |
