Using a manual bending jig, I'd like to put a 90 degree bend in a 1/4" x 1 1/2" #316 stainless steel bar. I understand that stainless steel is difficult to bend. Is the problem the amount of force required to make the bend or is it a case of the metal fracturing?
Hi mate i know this is a old post but as you have probably already found out stainless bar of that diamention is fairly easy to bend and you shouldn't really have any problems bending it if you use the right equipment, and you should be able to pull a tight bend, sorry for the late reply. regards greg.
