| Bending info How do you compensate for bends in sheet metal? I ask this specifically as i do not carry my PC with cad software round. Neo do you perhaps now of formulas to calculate bends and other sheet metal stuff? While i'm at it what about pipe bending? Klox

| Klox, I am not sure if this would be helpful, but I understand that if you bend a square bar of steel, that the bottom 1/3 of the bar is in compression (shorter) , and the top 2/3 is in tension (longer). This would give you an idea of where the neutral zone lies, which is still the original length of the bar.

| bending info HomeCNC, Hardmill, Hu and Rcrabb thanx for your replies. HomeCNC thanx for the link, i'll go check it out. When i was still an appy we did a course on the bending of tubing & sheetmetal. At that stage life was a joke so i never took any notes.... Well today i would like to refresh my memory on the bending of different materials as it comes in handy when doing press tools. Thanx again! Klox
