Hello - it does sound like a jd2 bender will work for your tubing needs. Another option is a tube bending shop I know of in the Atlanta area - mine. Pm me if you'd like to have the tubes bent...
Hello everyone! I've got a metal working question I need answered, and since I've moved and am in a new area, I no longer have anyone local to go to...
I'm duplicating an aluminum subframe on a motorcycle.
I need the ability to bend .750" aluminum tube (.125" wall) without kinking it. Max bend is around 30 deg, and the bends can be very gradual.
I also need the ability to bend .125" aluminum brackets. The brackets are 5-6" in length. The bends are to stiffen then flat pieces before they are welded inbetween the tubes for stiffening.
Finally, I need to be able to make small brackets in the shape _/--\_ (flattened "U"?) for dzus fastening, out of .0625" material.
JD squared or pro-tools bender?
Will one of the cheapy benders/brakes work for me? http://cgi.ebay.com/Small-Sheet-Meta...QQcmdZViewItem
Any ideas, suggestions, etc would be greatly appriciated. The brackets have not been cut yet, but I plan to have them water-jetted.
Speaking of water jet, anyone know a good place in the Atlanta GA area?
Thanks again, GREAT forum you all have here.
