Metal roof forming stamping?

Any one have experience with sheet metal roof forming stamping machinery?

Dennis, I believe the flat strip type (top picture) is roll formed, not stamped.

yep almost all metal roofin is roll formed, fairly simple machines actually.

I'm not sure what powers the machine, but we've turned the roll forming dies for a local guy. Pretty easy if you have a lathe.

just an electric motor with some sprockets and chains to each shaft that needs to turn.

most all of the sheet metal architectural details i have run into are roll formed.

Dennis the standing rib would be roll formed but the shakes would be stamped like a car fender at least in the old days when there were steal not plastic What about your flywheel # must be a secret LOL Good Luck Kevin

Ahha you have just hit on his secret. He is going to make an electric powered stamping machine using a 75hp motor and a big flywheel generator system storing energy between strokes so he does not need to pull nearly a thousand amp load out of the 240volt supply for a couple of seconds when the machine cycles. He runs the flywheel up to speed between strokes over 20 or 30 seconds while the stamp is being reloaded.
