| Bending Aluminum Bar 6"wide, 1/8" thick Want to make a nice sharp 35 degree (not 90) corner, will most likely use a press. Any problems here? Ive never done aluminum before. Is it gonna break in a half or what or can i expect it to bend nice like mild steel? Should I heat it up first? |

| It depends on your alloy and temper. With 6061 T6, which is the most common, you should be able to do 35 degrees over a bend radius about 1-1/2 to 2 times the material thickness. Other alloys or a lower temper will allow tighter bends but they are not as strong. |
