    Sieg SX3 6000rpm retrofit kit for mach3

A friend of mine bought a 1100w spindelmotor with a controlboard that should fit the SX3 perfectly. it has a controllpanel for manual use and LCD display that can be used instead of the original one. He hasnt had time to fit it to his mill yet. It can easily be controlled in mach3

Its made by a company called sangmutan

    http://www.sangmutan.com/eng/pc.asp?id=412

the price is about 450dollars for the kit.

Does anybody have experience with this kit?

I am going to attempt the same kind of conversion, using a 6K RPM upgrade kit from Novakon, so will be watching this thread for pointers.

Nope. And I probably won't have the kit until next week sometime. Then we're all going to have fun figuring out how to connect it.

I hope you have a wiring diagram. The actual motor and hall sensor wires are straightforward. And the Estop, spindle guard etc are also no problem. It's going to be the OTHER connections that will need worked out.

The Novakon board has 3 wiring plugs to a daughter board with a total of 13 wires. The SX3 only has 10.

There is a wealth of information in these 3 threads:

    NM-135 (KX3) spindle trouble
    SX3 spindle driver replacement
    SuperX3
