Decent sale CR, but with the CR-G540 and the 906 oz. motor you don't need the gas spring. But the helicals are nice.

Yeah Jeff, I don't need it either, but if it's FREE...maybe I could find a use for it. $60 off the price of helicals isn't bad.

Anyway, I have NEVER seen this kit on sale before, so now IS a good time to buy.

The Deluxe Kit isn't really on sale.

He is just throwing in extra options for free. Not the same thing.

Hi Skullworks. Well, Yes and no.

The supplied Lovejoy type connectors end up with a lot of backlash. You really don't get zero backlash without upgrading to Helical connectors. So if you want good performance, you NEED that upgrade. This adds $60 to the price of the kit.

Getting them free is like getting $60 off of the (ACTUAL) price--So it's a sale.

Now if you WANT/NEED a gas strut, then it's even more of a sale.

BTW: The kit is Newly improved. Michael has agreed to provide with all deluxe kits, at no extra cost, a Y screw retainer to prevent ball nut from losing its bearings.

FWIW, it's really easy to make couplers like that with a slitting saw:

    Those look very nice Bob.

It might be a little more difficult to make the clamping type though, which is what CNCFusion sells--and you can't beat the sale price.

One could also point out the Lovejoy type belong in the standard kit not in anything labeled as "Deluxe".
