    novakon 135 or syil x4?

First mill, needs to be able to be moved into basement and cost under 5,000.
Any feedback would be greatly appreciated. In a perfect world, would love a Haas, but.........
    Happy holidays all!

I say build your own .
There are premade kits outs there for some great mills.
In return youll know every in and out of the mill if something goes wrong in the future. You will save allot of money and just have the satisfaction of you building something with your hands.
    Thats my plan.
There are allot great folks that will help you here.

What do you do for a good solid base?

You really need a good solid base. Big machines have cast iron bases (heavy) and ground flat tables. This is not easy to do on a little machine. But I agree, if you build it you know how to fix it. And lots of places are selling ball lead screws, servos and drivers.

And you'd avoid all the problems I have with the junky novakon (http:///www.novakoncnc.com shares my story).

I am in the same boat, i think that for the money you have you can only go with the X4 right now and thats that its on special for 3999. You will still need a cam software also. I planned on spending 5k myself but i have a feeling i will be going over about 2k.
