How come no one extolled the virtues of fitting ballscrews to the mini-mill?? I finished my Y axis this morning, and OH BOY they ROCK!! I got my parts from homeshopcnc.com and his machining on the ends is excellent. I got the re-loaded the nuts to have zero backlash, and they certainly do have zero backlash. He also supplied a bearing mount that I re-worked into my stepper mount. It's not pretty enough for a picture yet, but after X gets done I'll post some. All in all I can't believe no one hit me upside the head and said "quit dorkin around with those leadscrews and put some real ballscrews in there!" I now have a MicroMark tru-inch setup for the mini-mill for sale!!! Rod |
