    Product Parting

    What is the preferred method to finish cutting a piece from the stock? every time I try I do not get a pleasant result I get a .010 jagged burn of aluminum all the way around the bottom of my piece. any ideas?

    mount it to a sacrificial surface (aluminum/plastic is what I have used in the past), and cut deep enough so you don't have the burr. make sure you are holding the part down somehow (if the part has bolt holes, it makes it very easy to hold, just takes some planning when you are programming the cnc)

    You've got to give a few more details to get a better answer. But a burr on the edge of the stock may just be an inevitable part of the operation. We've got a whole room and several employees at work who's only job is to clean up burrs. A file, and a deburring tool work wonders.
