    X3 Conversion - saddle pins

    Hello all,
I've just started the cnc conversion of my x3 mill (Grizzly 0619) using the cncfusion #4 kit. I have the table and the x-saddle removed, and have also removed the x and y lead-screw brackets. Now I see that there are two pins on the x axis-saddle. How does one remove these?

As you can see it didn't take me very long to run into trouble... any help is greatly appreciated,
    Jack

From my recollection, these are tapered pins. Try tapping them thru lightly.
    I hope this helps.

    Jlerion,

This is a very good reference.

    Frank,
Yes, they are indeed tapered pins - and with a few gentle, but firm, taps from the top they did fall out.

In regards to Jeff's link - the indepth guide doesn't remove the x/y lead-screw blocks - strange though, because Mr. Watson does remove everything else - on the mill I mean.

    Thanks,
    Jack

    Jack,

Sorry, I should have checked for the x/y lead-screw blocks removal instructions.
