    I need help X2

Hello everyone, I've been having trouble with my X2 that i converted. Here a little bit about my machine. I used cnc fusion kit #4 I believe for the hard ware part of it. For steppers and controller i bought a package from Keiling with 425oz steppers if i remember right.

The problem i'm having is right from the first pass it seems that it's not going back to where it started and ever pass there after it's going a little more. Please see picture i hope it shows what i'm talking about. What do you guys thing. Maybe spinning on the ball screw shaft. I ground a little flat spot on the shaft because it didnt have one, could it be the love joy connector because of the rubber flex section. I'm just about ready to pull my hair out. Any info would be great. Thanks.

    Thanks again, Mike

    Hi Mike,
You should be able to remove any guards etc. and take a look at the couplers. Check that there is no play at the coupler and you should be able to check the screws and make sure they are tight. Are you using Mach3? If so have you used the axis calibration utility to check and adjust the axis travel? You can find it on the Settings tab just above the red Reset button. It will help you determine if the axis are moving the same distance as what is input and make adjustments if needed. Does it seem to accumulate in the same direction each time? Which axis are affected by this problem? Make sure all the mounts for the ballscrews are tight and not lose. Also make sure there is no play at the spindle or the Z axis head.
    Regards,

Thanks for replying. It does accumulate a little after every pass. But the first pass seems a lot worse. I am running Mach 3. Would backlash have anything to do with my problem. It seems to only be the Y axis.
