    Littlemachineshop Mill

I have just received my Littlemachineshop version of the Sieg KX1 and I am ready to start cutting.

My previous mill was a A2ZCNC upgraded Sherline and I would just like to get some feedback on cutting speeds/ feeds etc for the KX1.

I have read lots of threads here on feed rates etc and would just like to confirm the following should be okay.

I will be cutting 6061 aluminum with a 0.25" Fullerton Aluma-Mill carbide endmill with the following paremeters.

    Mostly doing profile cutting

    Roughing
    1. Max spindle RPM 7,000 RPM
    2. Feedrate 28ipm,
    3 Plunge rate 5ipm
    4. Depth of cut 0.125
    5. Conventional cutting

    Finishing
    1. Max spindle RPM 7,000 RPM
    2.Feedrate 15ipm,
    3 Plunge rate 5ipm
    4. Depth of cut = full depth (3/8")
    5. Climb cutting

    How do these numbers look?

    Thanks

    David
