Even though that diagram is different than the one that came with my G8689, my motor does connect to the main switch.

I have all the parts for the X2 spindle motor controller but I am not sure about the wiring on the on/off switch. In this diagram it clearly states connections to terminal 6 and 7 but I do not understand where the other two wires from the switch go. IT looks like they indicate that two wires connect to the motor. But that does not make sense to me.
Any insight would be appreciated.

Littlemachineshop has some wiring diagrams for these motor controllers. You can find the controller under replacement parts for the X2, and I believe there is a link on that page to some wiring diagrams.

I did have a Homer Simpson moment (DOH!) and figured it out.
