Tailstock Tool holding on the G0602

I'm setting up my new G0602, and have no lathe experience... I'd like some advice on what is the best tool holding solution for holding drills, etc. in the tailstock. I have ER32/R8 setup for my G6019 (SX3) mill, and would like to use the ER32 collets with an ER32/MT3 holder, if that is a practical solution for using (in particular) my 1/2 inch shank drills (up to 1 inch) for opening up aluminum and mild steel. My concern is whether using the MT3 without drawbar provisions will hold sufficiently. Any thoughts or better solutions from experienced users much appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Roger

For the tailstock just get a good Jacobs drill chuck.
I use a 3/8 inch keyless for small bits and a 1/2 inch chuck for the bigger drill bits.
Wholesale tool has a big selection, pick out the chucks and get the MT3 arbors with the same taper to match. JT33, 2JT etc.
Plenty of cheap chinese chucks but the Jacobs are worth the money.

I want to hold sub-mill precision when center drilling and reaming, for proper bearing fits, etc. As I understand from reading here, I should get better accuracy and holding force using collets rather than a drill chuck. I already have a full overlapping size set of ER32 Collets from 3/32"(2mm) to 3/4" (20mm) which I use on an R8 arbor for milling/drilling on the SX3.

I know there is quite a bit of torque when drilling steel (in steps) up to 1" or more, and what I would like to know is, since the tailstock doesn't have drawbar provisions, if the Morse taper alone will not slip under these loads so I don't waste money investing in an ER32/MT3 arbor.
    Thanks,
    Roger

The taper will hold tight, no worries.

    Hoss,
Thanks for the confirmation... with that, I'll get an ER32/MT3 arbor.
    Regards,

I have G0602 and the MT3 drill chuck does slip in the tailstock some. My drill bits keep going dull real fast too, even my cobalt one. I am using a center drill and have no wobble when the hole starts. It slips when one of the flutes gets jammed up with shavings, and when I'm 1-2" into the part (aluminum).

Make sure there's no burrs on your tapers inside the tailstock and on the drill chuck and
    that they are oil free.
Use some oil on the drill bit and peck drill your way in.

In addition to the bur/oil free thing.

Slam the taper into the tailstock quickly with a good bit of force to seat it properly. It will still pop out without problems when you fully retract.
