Looks like something is wrong with the parsing Hurray. Yesterday it arrived in a giant crater. My very own brand new Sieg KX3. This is going to be my log for the various tweaks and mods i plan to do. Here is the stuff i plan to do: A solid stand and full enclouse Bolt the coloum to the wall to increase rigidty ATC, Hass style Well, now for the pics The mandatory crate pictures. I got it delivered at my home. Since i live in appartment it had to spend the night outside. <table style="width:auto;"><tr><td><a href="http://picasaweb.google.dk/lh/photo/dVSg_us-ydtJQ-wahm0ZaQ?feat=embedwebsite"><img src="http://lh5.ggpht.com/_0LG_WGqL0_w/ScqBZkZ8ZnI/AAAAAAAADu8/ruAkfjjSKvU/s400/IMG_5360.JPG" /></a></td></tr><tr><td style="font-family:arial,sans-serif; font-size:11px; text-align:right">From <a href="http://picasaweb.google.dk/jacobguldberg/KX3?feat=embedwebsite">KX3</a></td></tr></table> Today the carrier picked it up and transportet it to the student workshop where i do my hobby. Off the crater went, and look what i found inside <table style="width:auto;"><tr><td><a href="http://picasaweb.google.dk/lh/photo/2UAYHkzcQC-J3uNz5P4yXw?feat=embedwebsite"><img src="http://lh5.ggpht.com/_0LG_WGqL0_w/ScqBbOWumkI/AAAAAAAADvY/lS7PIoyHPug/s400/IMG_5363.JPG" /></a></td></tr><tr><td style="font-family:arial,sans-serif; font-size:11px; text-align:right">From <a href="http://picasaweb.google.dk/jacobguldberg/KX3?feat=embedwebsite">KX3</a></td></tr></table> The pallet was 1m and the door 0.9m, so i had to fine tune it with a jig saw. Anyway, this is how it looks right out the box <table style="width:auto;"><tr><td><a href="http://picasaweb.google.dk/lh/photo/CHIuOFhLM1Es6fTVoWPCDg?feat=embedwebsite"><img src="http://lh6.ggpht.com/_0LG_WGqL0_w/ScqBcdNOEZI/AAAAAAAADvo/dAutlxflUCU/s400/IMG_5365.JPG" /></a></td></tr><tr><td style="font-family:arial,sans-serif; font-size:11px; text-align:right">From <a href="http://picasaweb.google.dk/jacobguldberg/KX3?feat=embedwebsite">KX3</a></td></tr></table> The first thing i did was to remove that strange splash protective thingy around the table. Here after i noticed that the limitswitches was set a little to the safe side, thereby loosing some travel, so i adjusted them properly. Also i removed that hideous red grease. At least it was only a thin layer in most parts. Ofcause i had to open it up and have a look inside. Neetly wired. Look at that huge power supply <table style="width:auto;"><tr><td><a href="http://picasaweb.google.dk/lh/photo/jafyBRg4Z2iEUmC1-cBFTw?feat=embedwebsite"><img src="http://lh5.ggpht.com/_0LG_WGqL0_w/ScqBfE5-l0I/AAAAAAAADwY/_3Okil-p6VI/s400/IMG_5371.JPG" /></a></td></tr><tr><td style="font-family:arial,sans-serif; font-size:11px; text-align:right">From <a href="http://picasaweb.google.dk/jacobguldberg/KX3?feat=embedwebsite">KX3</a></td></tr></table> In the back all the spindle hardware is hidden <table style="width:auto;"><tr><td><a href="http://picasaweb.google.dk/lh/photo/oJGVqbsRDzAgTcFuOiCwzw?feat=embedwebsite"><img src="http://lh5.ggpht.com/_0LG_WGqL0_w/ScqBiVvlIHI/AAAAAAAADxQ/4pc7X_m2fd0/s400/IMG_5378.JPG" /></a></td></tr><tr><td style="font-family:arial,sans-serif; font-size:11px; text-align:right">From <a href="http://picasaweb.google.dk/jacobguldberg/KX3?feat=embedwebsite">KX3</a></td></tr></table> I also took the top cover off, you can get a glims of the spindle motor <table style="width:auto;"><tr><td><a href="http://picasaweb.google.dk/lh/photo/Xwv7kNXq5eC7sur3oE3NDA?feat=embedwebsite"><img src="http://lh5.ggpht.com/_0LG_WGqL0_w/ScqBkpL8FbI/AAAAAAAADx0/gtzK_v2Ben4/s400/IMG_5382.JPG" /></a></td></tr><tr><td style="font-family:arial,sans-serif; font-size:11px; text-align:right">From <a href="http://picasaweb.google.dk/jacobguldberg/KX3?feat=embedwebsite">KX3</a></td></tr></table> First program running. Just a simple circle test to hear it humming. <object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/V2Gof-xuSr0&hl=en&fs=1"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/V2Gof-xuSr0&hl=en&fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object> And lastly the goodies i bought along with the mill. The wooden box is a complete set of parallels. <table style="width:auto;"><tr><td><a href="http://picasaweb.google.dk/lh/photo/qS_ABj-uTdx4BXN4FL9ybQ?feat=embedwebsite"><img src="http://lh3.ggpht.com/_0LG_WGqL0_w/ScqBje8PTvI/AAAAAAAADxg/X7QYwQygSEk/s400/IMG_5380.JPG" /></a></td></tr><tr><td style="font-family:arial,sans-serif; font-size:11px; text-align:right">From <a href="http://picasaweb.google.dk/jacobguldberg/KX3?feat=embedwebsite">KX3</a></td></tr></table> Thats it for now. Maybe ill do a small test cut tomorrow, but before it sits bolted to a solid stand its difficult to make a judgement |
