Found this site recently: http://www.wixey.com/ For $80 you can get a 4.9" DRO, with remote display, designed for a router height measurement. They target wood-working tools, but they have extensions for the scales, WR7002 "Readout Track Extension Kit", for only $55. Who'll be the first to try them out? I'm tempted, but I'm going CNC eventually. Tom |

http://www.wildhorse-innovations.com It does WAY more than just display position, and is a really nice piece of equipment. It works with Chinese scale, or quadarature scales (with little adaptors for quadrature). Regards, Ray L. |

| The Shumatec DRO has been around for a while. There's a group about it on yahoo. If I could get cheap scales (I don't think 800watt ships outside the US?), I'd probably get one of these so I can get some manual milling experience before I CNC the X2.

| I'm hoping the shipping quote is just a place filler needed by the invoicing software. The website does indicate that a quote will be given for international shipping. The Shars eBay site does give more reasonable prices for shipping so I'll wait for a replay to my question about the quoted price.

so you can get their by.... 1.) airplane.... that's not cheap 2.) ship.... that can be cheap, if you fill a container with 1,000 widgits and then ammortize the cost. 3.) submarine..... don't think UPS has one of those in their fleet 4.) rocket...... same as #3, plus the product would likely not fair to well ![]() ever process export paperwork? ever deal with Australia's extremely anal requirements for packaging materials..... You aint gonna just go out back and grab a pallet from the pile. |

| UPS is nuts. I ship up to 20 lbs in a USPS Priority Flat rate box for $49.95, just fill out customs declaration form 2976-A and off it goes. Do they have a USPS option? Hoss
