| New mill Hey all, looking into a buying a Novakon bench mill (the large one). Just wondering what everyones thoughts are on this mill. I will be cutting mostly aluminum and steel. I am a tool and die maker by trade and I have some cnc expeirence but I am farily new to it. Thanks in advance |

when i was in their shop i looked at the bigger one. it seems to be very nice. not a toy at all. they have a little video posted thats not all that impressive for cutting, but it shows it gnawing on some aluminium. im gonna try and help them get some better domonstrations once mine is running. |

| I have the NM-134 with the cd-100 controller. The fit and finish on the mill seems pretty good and the controller came preconfigured and communicated with the mill right out of the box. I did have an issue initally with the Z axis not working and they tried to help me solve it well into the late evening on a friday and were going to come up with a game plan for the following Monday. I ended up finding the issue over the weekend once I was able to locate my meter and started ohming out the system. found a stray strand of wire in the D connector for the motor field wires was touching another field wire. I've just been playing around with it a little due to some other time constraints and the fact I'm brand new to any kind of CAD. The big mill is the same mill as the Smithy and they even include the stand |
