Looking for a drawing of the mini mill

I am planning on builing a small gang lathe, using the spindle housing (headstock) of the mini mill. Does anyone have this part drawn. I am looking for the width, height, mounting hole locations, height of spindle center to bottom of the housing, etc.

You can visit the Harbor Frieght store in Loves Park.

They have most of the mini mills and small lathes on the showroom floor.

They dont mind if you take measurements.

Little Machine Shop sells all the parts.

    Drawing

    Thanks,
I was in at harbor freight a few weeks ago, and the only thing they had was the micro lathe. I have the mini lathe headstock and I know there are some differances from the mill and the lathe headstock, like the mounting holes, and absence of the female way guide. The mounting holes look like they are semetrical. I know of LMS, and have ordered from them before. Thanks for the suggestions though.

You could just buy the whole lathe headstock from LMS:

There is a Yahoo group for these and I think you can find Cad drawing there. They have the groups for both lathe and mills. The casting is basically the same on both except the lathe head has a v slot mill in the bottom. I actually used a mill head on my lathe. I just swapped spindles.

    Lee,
Thats exactly what I plan on, (mill housing, lathe spindle)then I can put a timing pully on the end of the 7 x 14 spindle as there is much more real estate verses the 7 x12 spindle or the mill spindles, and it allows for a chucks to be mounted.

Here is a link to my build if you haven't seen it yet. Bearings are discussed somewhere in there as well.

Like lee said, there is a 3d CAD drawing of the X2 Mini Mill at the Yahoo Group GrizHFMiniMill.

It's 3.8MB uncompressed and 1MB compressed. I tried uploading it but no dice Eric Na is the author, not me so all Kudos go to him. On the Yahoo Group he is Whoafat ... not sure if he is on the Zone or not.

Hy there, be careful and check if the CAD bolt patterns are the same on yours. On mine, they differed by a few millimeters. Pretty bad if your CAD part won´t fit your real world part. There are clones to the X2 that look alike but are not.

Easiest sign to recognize the clone: 2 aluminum handwheels on the x-axis.
    Example: google "XJ12-300"
