I was surfin the net yesterday trying to get some new ideas for the conversion and found this website.... It is called sparkycnc. It seems he sells some kits or at least has free plans for the ballscrew and motor mount conversion of a mill drill. I kinda like the looks of the motor mounts and I was hoping someone could direct me to the free plans he cites on the website. They look like the table travel is not compromised at all with this design. Any ideas or clues? Thanks in advance..... here's the link.... http://www.sparkycnc.com/grizzly.html |

Thanks for that I did not know that was even possible. I found the site and thought he did a decent job with the motor mounts and was thinking I might talk to him a bit. Hope you are doing well and how is that router coming along. I know I am now definitely going to build one myself once my mill is up an running because I am sure I can do some jobs for my employer. Merry Christmas and keep in touch....peace.... |

I had kinda thought that it was not gonna happen since I had not heard from you about it. Let me know when and where. I just bought a small knee mill and I think I am gonna sell my Rong Fu RF31 so if you know anyone local who might want it send em my way. I know how work gets in the way for sure. I am trying to get work done on my conversion but now I am in the middle of building some new kitchen cabinets for the house so it is kinda on the back burner right now. I hope to have the cabinets done before christmas and be able to spend some time during the holidays working on the mill. Peace man.... |

He looks like he had some good ideas for the motor mounts for a mill drill there on the site and he had plans for free too. Just wondering if he still has them available and what he did with the bearings setup in his machines. Thanks man....peace |

Nice that it is in Maryville, but I hope I can afford the entrance fee around that time. Sounds like it will be a good time and a great learning experience. I am sure I could use the basic class to help get me up to speed on the software, hopefully I will have this machine running by then. Merry Christmas man......peace |
