| Grizzly G1005 MIll/Drill and 305oz steppers? Hi All, I've got 3 305oz/3.5A stepper motors, and was wondering if anyone with experience with this type/style of mill would know if these are large enough to use on this mill? Any input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Patrick |

| They are a bit on the low end for this mill. It also depends on the driver you will be using on them. If properly geared and driven by something like geckos and a suitable Powersupply I would expect you to get around 30 IPM rapids out of them. Of course this depends on how torque you design into your pulley reduction for machining force. Note that you have to have machining force at the speed suitable for machining and your pully system has to be layed out to match this, the rapids are simply the fastest speed you can get with that layout and are only stated because it will be very close to the maximum capacity of the motors. With the cheaper Drivers that operate on a lesser voltage and amperage you would not be getting the 305 oz or speed and would have to live with maybe a lot less performance. Good Luck |
