Cuuting cricles with mini mill

Is there an attachment for the X-2 manual mill that will allow cutting circles in aluminum?

I was thinking something that could bolt to the table with the aluminum in the horizontal position, it would need some kind of geared handle to turn the piece to cut the circles.

aside from a rotary table you will have a hard time making diameter this size on a manual mill

You sure about circumference? Thats about 1.5" diameter? in which case a boring head or Hoss'e example rotary table will do it.
If its 4" diameter you'll need either a 6" rotary table or a bigger than X2 CNC mill

Yep......4" in circumference is what I am after, 4" in diameter is too big for the X-2?

You can cut stock much bigger than the rotary table,
you just have to put a couple mounting holes in it.
This is a 6 in. dia. part on my 4 inch rotary table.
There's enough clearance between the column and spindle to mill
a 12 in. dia. if you wanted.

Even larger actually if it's just milling toward the edge like this part.
The center will be offset in the X giving extra column clearance.

Hey! I recognize that part!

Have you ever needed to swivel the head? I figure if you'd found a use for it, the Freak would have a stepper there and you'd have a 5-axis machine!

Great, now there's another project to add to the list.
