I got some steppers in a kit. They were stated to be 130oz, well I can only run the x and y at 1.8ipm and cant even get the z to start to move. Thats with a 5:1 reduction also!!!! They are on a HF mini mill. I am looking for some good 200 + oz motors 2.5 amp 4 wire for about $200 for all 3 together. Anyone have a good source? |

| http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...844136403&rd=1 I bought some of these about a year ago and ended up paying $60-70 each. They are 253 oz. The auction is for 2, but the seller says he has more.

| Yes, I looked there. The posts are quite old though. I did email one of them since he seems to have many listed on his site. I dont want to count on one source though. I have also been searching ebay the past 2 weeks with not much luck yet. |

| Some thoughts, what is the limiting factor of the 2.5 amps, is your driver limited to that? The motor ratings are based on a per amp so you might want to look into some better drivers and motors in combo. Why the 4 wire motors is another question I would have. I have some 4 axis boards that are rated at 10 amp, can't remember what I paid for them but I can look and see when I get home later on. You start coming at a motor with that many amps and I would think you would have no problem. |

| Check with Dan Maunch at Camtronics. I bet he has what you need.

| I am running 300oz/in stepper motors direct drive and its working great, this is only at 30v, I could almost double that voltage. my max ipm on 5tpi ballscrews is 60ipm and I could possibly get up to 90ipm on a higher voltage. These are the motors from toronto surplus, Japan Servo motor steppers. Jon |
