| Do you want to attach it temporarily or permanently? The X2 spindle housing is the same casting and uses the same bearings as the 7x mini-lathes. You could press out the mill spindle and mount a mini-lathe spindle. The mini-lathe spindle has a 3MT taper so you might be able to still use that for milling with a drawbar? Just a thought. For more temporary... you could also buy a blank R8 arbor and machine it so you could mount a face plate. Then you could bolt the chuck onto that, and it would be temporary. |

| It is going to be a permanent modification. In fact I'm disassembling my homemade mill (wich have a X2 head) to build a micro lathe. My cnc mill works OK for wood and aluminium, but I'm using it only 3 hours a week while I need a lot more of lathe work. So I intend to build the lathe using the most of the mill parts I can. So good the mill head uses the same bearings as the mini lathe Thankyou very much guys. I will buy that kit from ebey and hopefully start building my new machine soon |
