broke intermediate gear on model 44991

I was useing a flycutter and things were going good so I turned the speed up a little heard a bang . I took the motor off and found a broken intermediate gear. normally do any of the other gear break Items 140,166,168, ect when you get a sudden stopage? And is that pulley /belt kit worth the money?

Belt kit is worth every dang pennies worth. I have had a few flycutters, endmills slam into work because of my poor setup abilities. Just turn off the machine turn it back on and your back into buisness. If you can find the pullies and have access to another mill or gear you could easily make one yourself. Hoss has plans on his website. I bought mine from the little machine shop. I wanted to save myself the cost of the plastic gear, time and material so I caved in and purchased it.

I should also mention how much louder the belt drive is though. Just joking it makes it about 10 times more enjoyable, well atleast for me. Now I need to figure a way to make the stepper motors more quite
