how can I fix it

hello to everyone outthere.
has any one had this problem if so please lt me know how to fix it ( here it is I have set up my motors pretty much the way they are suppose to be tune. but they are still kind of slow and stubborn. but today I turn on my mill and I just started jogging all three axis and for about one minute they were running pretty smooth then all of a suddenly they started to be stubborn again that was kind of weird. I am using mach 3 with a laptop XP, does any one have any idea what could be wrong.

Is your laptop fast enough? From memory you need at least an 800MHz machine to keep up the steps. Found jerky movement with a 700MHz machine but it became smooth-as when I changed to a 2.6GHz PC.

Yes, laptops are not recommended at all as the voltage is too low for this process. Also, have you use the "optimization" method to set up your pc?
