| Boring pulley for motor shaft I need to bore a pulley to fit on a motor. The motor shaft is exactly .5". Question, what size should I bore the the pulley ID for best results? Maybe .002 smaller? Thanks in advance, Bill |

| Boring 0.002" smaller is too small. For motor pulleys go for a size-for-size fit or slightly larger; i.e., bore 0.500" -0.000" +0.001". Boring 0.002" smaller would make it impossible to get the pulley on without heating it and shrinking it on....then you would never get it off!!!
