I ended up stopping by HF and got these two items...

I thought they would work okay, but the cutter is way too small and the drill sharpener is, well, not great at all, so it's all going back. That was a broken bit, but that's as good as it gets.

I know, I need real tools right? Well, it was father's day so I had to try. I did like the bright orange on these little tools though. Makes them very visible and that works well for safety. Unfortunately they just weren't the best choice. Oh yeah, that's the full face mask I also picked up today. The glasses still work, but they still give me a headache. This mask is light and simple, so it works for just keeping chips off the full face.

Does anyone have any suggestions for drill bit sharpeners other than the grinder itself? What about end mill sharpeners, I have no idea what is used for these other than the grinder, but I'm sure there are better ways to do this.

This is something we do have... a few broken bits and well, I like the idea of something that may be dedicated to this without much fuss. I'm looking at the drill doctor, but I haven't used any drill bit sharpening tools so if there's anything better I would like to know. Thanks. Dad ask me so I might as well look for something good.

Good job! Now you have a machine that can reliably do some serious work.

Refunds

I got some stuff from Travers and HF and of course had to make returns. Unfortunately I have found them to take a while to get your refund. So keep an eye on this if you have purchased anything from them. Not totally bad, it just sucks when you thought you had that change. Ugh....

I ended up getting an extra belt for the mini mill and mini lathe from LMS and well, the lathe I thought would be something better and different, it's the same as the original, but cut a little better than the one mine came with. You can still see it's not perfect though. The mini mill belt is the same type the kit was packed with. Just some food for thought.

It's been a long while since I even looked at my machines, but I was just looking around the net and saw this controller box. I was wondering if anyone has any more information on them. I know ebay has them for even less so I got curious instead of trying to piece things together for a controller box. I don't know what the physicial dimensions on it are, but I'm guessing it won't be small. So I'm just looking around for more info, thanks.

CNC 4 Axis Stepper Motor Driver Control Controller BOX $135.56 Free Shipping @GoodLuckBuy.com

I did a little more reading and I noticed some bad feedback from the lower seller. The seller with better feedback was much higher, so now I still want to get more information on these, but I don't think I'll be picking anything up. They looked interesting though. If you guys have any more info do post it.

Buy me a Beer?

I think for a all in one driver/bob I would look at getting a Gecko G540. They are proven and well worth their money. I would purchase from Keiling Inc. Good customer service and you will get what you are intending to buy. Here is a Link. What are you thinking about using for control software? EMC2 is free and very capable. Runs on Linux which is very stable and runs on older computers with ease. I just loaded it on an old 1ghz crappy computer for a Danford Micromill refit and works excellent even with the 3d back plot on. (or whatever the on screen simulation is called)

I would image by now you have realized their isn't really any end mill sharpener that is going to be cost effective for you. I personally use a Drill Doctor X500 to sharpen Drill Bits. I would get the X750 if I where to buy it again as it has more capacity/functions. For end mills I'm building a Bonelle Tool & Cutter Grinder. Their is also a Quorn that you get get castings for from Martin Models to build. Looks like around $400-500 total to build either and also require the use for a dividing head which you can also build. The VHD or Versatile Dividing Head also able to get from Martin Models.
