    lathe chuck in super x3?

    i have been playing around with a 3" 3 jaw lathe chuck in my super x3. turn the head to 90 degrees and clamp the toolpost in a vise. it works surprisingly well, anyone else ever tried this?

    Is it necessary to turn the head 90 degrees.

    thats how lathes work, seems to be a sensible concept!
