I've got an Emco F1 cnc mill, and I'm looking for suggestions for a turnkey Mach retrofit. I just don't have time, so I want it as close to plug & play as possible. If any of you have experience with any available options, I'd appreciate your experiences and suggestions. I also have a lathe, so I'd prefer a kit that can work with both. If there are any hobbyists in SoCal between San Diego and Corona who have done a professional quality job converting theirs, and want to make a few dollars, I'd consider bids. Thanks! |

| I just got an F1 also and have the same situation. In Digital Machinist magazine there is a 4 part series bout converting an F1....I only have the 4th installment and that deals with configuring Mach 3 software. I ordered the previous issues from Village Press Inc this morning. If you are interested call 800-773-7798 and ask for the circulation person. I can't say anything about how they convert it or what equipment they use until the back issues get here. Good Luck Tom |

| all you need is good NEMA23 motors and drivers for it. I use Sanyo denki 200ozin motors and Gecko 201s with a PC running Emc. you can use Mach3 or kelly cam. Very easy conversion, the only "hard" thing to do is to drill a little pin on the motor to fit existing emco gear tooth. It took about 6 hours to do the ful conversion. |
