Ok got my C6 board back in and I'm having difficulty getting it to show any voltage to send to the control board on the X2. Here is the setups. 12vdc 600ma power wall mount power supply. C10 breakout board. Step hooked to pin 14 (output) Dir hooked to pin 16 (output) Gnd hooked to the ground with the powersupply to keep it isolated. Both jumpers on the board set to opto My home/limit switches work so the board is getting signal I suspect Mach 3 setup -Ports and pins: Motor outputs spindle motor checked, step pin 16, Dir pin 14, Low active, step & Dir port 2 -Spindle setup: motor control use spindle motor output and step dir. control checked, PWM base 9 min PWM 10% -General Parameters: CW delay spinup 2 sec, CCW delay spinup 2 sec, CW spindown 3 sec, CCW spindown 3 sec. Motor tuning: steps per 1000, velocity 1500, accel 1000, step pulse 1, Dir pulse 1 HZ set to 25000 I get .83-.85 vdc output regardless of RPM input in the Program Run Display under spindle speed. The dwell icon flashes Now for other issues I swapped PC's and the Control worked fine until after the swap. Now when trying to Jog I get a high pitched whine out of the motors, the DRO's move but the motor jumps around a little then stops and makes noise. All axis do the same even with the motors removed. Speed and accel doesnet make any difference. Back to the shop to figure it out maybe. Thanks for any help in advance. Rick |

| Ok new update. I disabled everything but the c6 board so I would make sure something else wasent interfearing. Hooked the C6 to pin 8(step) and pin 3(dir) both jumpers set to 1-2 (com=gnd and 2-9 output). Nothing checked in the input or output tabs on Mach 3. Use spindle motor and Step/Dir checked in the spindle setup. 25k hz. When measuring the output voltage from the board I get .85vdc, this is with the following results with pin voltages. The E-stop is the one on Mach Active is with the max pulley rpm being 2000 rpm and inputing that speed and getting the dwell and spindle icon to flash green. Step pulse 5 Dir pulse 1 Pin 8 voltage at e-stop 5.14v active is .08v Pin 3 voltage at e-stop .04v active is 5.12v Pin 8 With the step low active checked I get 0v at e-stop and 5.08v active Pin 3 with the dir low active checked I get .04v at e-stop and .04v active Changing the step and dir pulse both to 1 Pin 8 voltage at e-stop is 0v and active is .08v Pin 3 voltage at e-stop is .04v and active is 5.11v Pin 8 with step low active checked is 0v at e-stop and 5.08v active Pin 3 with dir low active checked is 5.12 at e-stop and .04 active Since voltage is coming and going I would think I am getting signal at the breakout board. I should be set up with step and Dir. pulse at 1 with the step low checked for pin 8 to give 0v at estop and 5.08v at full rpm and pin 3 set to normal (not low active) to get .04v at e-stop and 5.11v at full rpm. Does any of this sound correct? This thing is about to wear me out not to mention the other issues that I'm going to put in another post. Thanks again. Rick |

| I was only getting about 1 volt output from the C6 to the motor control board when I first installed it. One trick that got the C6 to increase the voltage output was to open Motor Tuning in Mach 3 and set the Step Pulse to 15. It calls for 1-5 but 5 only increased the voltage output a wee bit. I'm not sure why it worked, nor was Arturo. I thought it may have been a bad pot on the board but who knows. Give it a try. Hoss

I was wondering if there is some way to troubleshoot the c6, I have it connect to c10 but not the the motor controller, but when I try to adjust the voltage, it does not change? Even with a m3 or 4s100-2500 command nothing. I have the settings per jd solutions and cnc4pc, but have I maybe already fried this board? And yes I have it on it's own 12v supply Thanks for your time. Noel |
