I just pick up my mill drill this morning. http://busybeetools.ca/cgi-bin/pictu...0&NTITEM=B1976 Absolutly had to remove the head in order to get it down two flights of stairs.removing it was no problem. getting it back on is a whole new ball game.i cant get the rack and pinion to line up properly.it seems to bind up when i try to lower the head.i've tried lifting it,wiggling every which way to no avail.should i have fed the teeth through the head prior to putting it on?theres zero strength left between the two of us trying to do this today ![]() Any suggestions guys?? |

| Did you install it correct end up? It'll never mesh upside down! Should be able to feed in from the top.Don't pinch your fingers! The rack may not have teeth cut all the way to the end. Try this remove the rack, slide the head on, remove the head crank arm and gear cover.Support the head from falling (block of wood).Slide the rack down, install the gear and shaft & cover, making sure that the gear is meshed.Tighten screws. If all else fails go back to the store & ask for help perhaps with the floor model. regards |
