Hey Guys..USOVO is selling a automatic bit changer for the mf70 looks cool but it says it has a runout of 0,02mm. The sort of work I will be doing will be small engravings on the backs of watches and such is this much runout to much on something that small..........Thanks |

| That is just under .0008, which while not great is in practice very acceptable, especially considering the machine in question and what you are using it for. I find for engraving bits you can get away with quite a bit more than conventional wisdom for mills would have it for a number of reasons. Anything over .007-.009 tips with a pretty high included angle or so and you will likely be fine. That being said, for what you want to do, do you need a toolchanger in the first place? For engraving and that kind of work, setting up and programming in zero and position for each tool and the extra code involved usually takes more time than doing it manually. How many tool changes per path do you need for engraving? |
