proxxon mini enclosure.

Hey... This is my first post on cnc-zone I've learned allot from you guys and I just like to say hi & thanks. I thought I'll show you my currant project an custom enclosure for my soon to be cnc'ed proxxon mf70 it's made from a pvc water main pipe 18'' dia. 22'' tall 5/8 thick and heavy 46lbs. and that's without the epoxy base I'm putting in the bottom. I have included a picture that was my inspiration for this setup. Now it's time to go back down to the basement and start grinding & cutting again pvc dust is the worst everything has a green film on it. I'll keep you posted.......Dean

I made it up just to try it out works pretty good. I have a full size coolant line but it's just to big for a proxxon. Don't no if I'll need it or not but if I do it's there.

proxxon mini enclosure #2

Hey Guys...Well the door is coming along got the lexan in place lots of bondo for the hundreds of holes/scratches/niks/cutmarks. Sent you a picture of my x1 and extremely powerful laboratory grade vac that I plugged solid with pvc dust (DAM 3 STAGE HEPA FILTERS). The only problem is do I put the door on a piano hinge so it swings open or sliders? so it slides around the unit I like to use slides but how do I bend the rails to go around the pipe any ideas to make that work?

For the door, I would take into account what type of coolant you will be using. If your going flood coolant the splashing will seep threw anywhere it can. maybe a larger plate under the pipe enclosure. This will catch any type of coolant that gets out of the tube. I really love this idea!

Thanks...Jason They also make this pvc in 24'' diameter as well don't no if that's big enough to fit a taig but it's worth looking into. Make sure you get it used from someone in the sewer&water main field cuz buying it new will cost you $80ft.
