Well I bought the first scale a 12" horizontal read for the X axis. I will buy a Y axis one soon. Well now I want a pre assembled reader I guess you'd call it, where it reads the increments moved by. I've seen some readers, small units that look like the readout panel on the scales, or like small calculators, but have three window for the axis. Has anybody seen anything like I've described, please let me know. I think Chronos once had them but I can't seem to find them on the site. Well if all else fails, and here's the point of all this, can a Vertical scale be used to read the Y axis by cleaver mounting strategies?. This is a manual mill application only. |

| Speedre, You can order a Shumatech DRO-350 from Lester Caine's "Model Engineers Digital Workshop". He sells a complete kit and I believe that if you order it "repaired" at the same time, he will send you a complete working unit (ask him to be sure). http://home.lsces.co.uk/ModelEnginee...EuropeanPrices I have had a DRO-350 on my mill for a couple of years and I really like it. | http://www.cdcotools.com/ Look under DRO Systems and Scales The DRO goes for $175 and the scales range from 5"@$45 to 18"@$99 Oh and if your not going to read the actual scale itself then just pick a size for the better price there is about a 5 dollar difference between vertical and horizontal. |
