When using said caliper for read outs, what if any, does one cut off to mount them? As a casual user of my mill they are a cheap way to accomplish a DRO system. Before I spend some money on them I'd like some opinions from those who have used them. |

| I did one axis this way - I actually cut the jaws off, drilled a hole in the other end so I could mount it but to be honest, it was a lot easier and cleaner to buy the chinese scales that are made for DROs. That is what I did on the other axis. They aren't that much more than the calipers. |

| If you haven't checked out the ShumaTech DRO-350 page yet: http://www.shumatech.com/products/dro-350/index.htm Specifically, here's a PDF on how to mount Chinese scales to a mill/drill: http://www.shumatech.com/support/Chi...Experience.pdf |
