Smile Looking for Rong Fu RF-31 spare part

    Hello,

I am new here and have searched the forums but can't seem to find any previous reference to this questons.

I have a Rong Fu RF-31 copy and the Spiral Sprinl that is used to return the spindle back to the top (idle postiion) is broken.

Any ideas on where I could find spares of this kind in Australia?

    Regards

    Found part

    FYI,

I ordered a RF-31 quill spring but found it was too wide, 19mm , My mill ( i have since found out) is a RF-20 or MD-20, very similar in appearance to an RF-25/31 but must be a bit smaller or something. Anyway the quill spring i required was 5 mm wide. www.hareandforbes.com.au have a pedistal drill called a PD-26 and the quill spring from that item is a near perfect match, so I have installed it on my MD-20 and all is good again.

Did you break it taking it off like I did?

    RF-20 Spring

    Dan_the_Welder,

No, mine was already broken, I was origonally going to just use the reamining spring as best i could but is was broken almost in the middle so it was not an option. but installing the new one was a very dangerous business indeed.

The first attempt was with saftey glasses only but after a bit of a incident and a little loss of blood, I decided to wear riggers gloves as well and after a bit of muching about managed to correctly seat the new spring.

    All's well that ends well.
