I have a Sherline mill and want to start in the world of cnc. Should I purchase the Sherline upgrade? Are there other less expensive alternatives? I have been looking at some of the DIY machines but they look like when all is said and done the would come out to be about the same price. Oh by the way, I forgot to mention I'm on a budget Thanks Andy |

| I too have a Sherline cnc mill. If I were you I,d get either a Cnchobby or Keling kit, I think they both offer complete kits /280 oz motors drivers already in a box and power supply. Hunt ya down a garbage pc or a hand me down pc and load up Mach3 or Turbocnc(get the guys on here to help ya set it up). As for your Cad/cam well thats the tuff part, I use and am starting to like Mastercam. There are many free cad/cam deals out there so check those out too. Good Luck..... |
