I am looking at the Xylotex 4 axis bipolar board and the Hobbycnc 4 axis unipolar board. The Xylotex is more money but it is bipolar which means more torque. The Hobbycnc board is more affordable for me though. I like it how the Hobbycnc board handles more voltage which i can raise up later if I need to. I was certin that i was going to buy the hobbycnc board with the 305oz motors, until I found the 425oz motor at xylotex. The total for hobbycnc would be 279 before while the zylotex system would be about 437, which means i should buy the kit with the powersupply for 425, even though i dont need the powersupply. My goal is to have the motors powerful enough that im not always running them as hard as they can go. So is the xylotex kit worth the extra 146 bucks or is the hobbycnc board they way I should go? EDIT: This is going to be for a X2 mini mill, with the cncfusion #4 conversion kit.

| Im all so building a X2. And I have ask a few qestions on the matter. From what I understand is Gecco's & Keling are the better Driver Boards. As for the Xylotex a few have had problems with them Burning up. I believe Hoss2006 on this form site has used the Xylotex. And may have gone through a few of them boards. Now he use the Keling Divers. As for Hobbycnc its a better board than the Xylotex. All the gratest stepper motors in the world ant worth a dam if you don't have a good driver. And depending on Full,Half,1/4,1/8 Mico step setting & Volts/Amps your using. Will afect the amount of RPM/POWER you get out of a given size motor. |
