| Phil, Actually it was a bit of a bodge as it's a straight sided rack cutter off another job. It was done more to test the software program than to generate a correct gear. I have since ground up some D bits with the correct involute but as yet haven't cut any more gears, maybe next week as I have a machine to test. . |

| Hi John Thanks for the feedback. Have you considered to use the mill to produce the involute, with the blank in the spindle and a single point lathe tool in a vise on the table. Also it seems to me there are a whole range of possibilities to produce gear cutters using a CNC mill, especially with a 4th axis. Phil
