    X3 Cad model

Been thinking of getting a Grizzly X3 (G0463) and converting it to CNC after my CNC router is finished. Does anyone have or know where I can get a 3D Cad model of the X3 mill?

    Thanks,

    Nick

cajbr, I got home from work and downloaded these files. They look like the parts for a X2 or X1 mill. Thanks for the try tho.

Here is a 3D CAD model for the Syil Super X3 that I think I found in the Syil forum on this site. Since the SX3 has the same basic frame as the X3 these might be a bit more help.

I'm working on making an enclosure for a Syil SX3 that I ordered 6 months ago and haven't had the time to setup. Overall the dimensions have been very accurate but it looks like the mounting holes in the base might be off by 1/4 inch or so. That might be an issue with the accuracy of the castings in the mill rather than the CAD.

Sorry, the attachment was to large. I'll have to zip it up.

You might want to make sure that it's not the X3 before you dismiss these files. I have just checked the drawing of the base, and it's the base of the X3.

The base is what made me think it was no the X3. It is rectangular in overall shape, but the X3s I have seen have a angled side for the Z-axis handle and drive shaft. Please coorect me if I am wrong. Other things I have noticed is the parts do not fit together.

The super X3 that I have has a bit of an angle on the right side. I'd post a pic but my brother is borrowing my digital camera at the moment.

Here is the DXF file I promised.

The reason those drawings don't have an angle on eiter sides, is because the person who made the drawings probably was too lazy. I see several other faults in it too, but it's still the drawing of an X3. I also checked the table this time just to be sure.

The DXF loaded fine for me but I was using AutoCad. Just in case it was something in the zip compression the corrupted the DXF. Here is the original zip file that I downloaded from the forums a few months ago. This also includes an .igs file that might work for you.
