I have broken the gears on my micro mill :-(

I would like to convert to belt drive.

Has anyone any info on the conversion, please.

Micro Mill Belt Drive

The Micro-Mill is tough to maintain as far as upgrades like this go. You'll have to build alot of these yourself. Honestly, I don't understand why someone doesn't have a line of parts available for it.
I found this.

Hope it helps.

There's a Beltdrive kit available here:
http://www.tj-cnc.com/

Ask about availability before ordering though, I heard that the maker was backlogged at one point and they were taking months for the order to be fulfilled.

Unfortunately this conversion only works for 44991 Mini Mills. Millminer is looking for a 47158 Micro Mill version.

Haven't seen a belt drive kit for the X1, did a quick search in the for sale section and found this listing that sold on Sep 22nd.

http://www.cnczone.com/classifieds/s...p/product/1625

Edit: looks like it was the same one listed above from TJ-CNC

I have one of the TJ-CNC kits installed on my micromill: It was a good buy, I'm glad I got it. The only caution is that John Guenther, the guy making them, got absolutely totally snowed under in order requests for these kits and it seems like he's just now digging himself free of the backlog. I waited ten months for mine to arrive. You might want to contact him first to see how far behind he is.

That aside, this is a good kit and worth every penny. He should probably be charging more for it.

Oh, BTW, I have my gears left over from the coversion. Cover shipping and they're yours if you want them.

Thanks for the offer Monty, I have just sent for a new set of gears.
After seeing the jpg I think I shall buy a kit.

btw, what happens to the speed control, switches, etc?

Any other pics?

The speed control/switches have to be put in a seperate enclosure. RadioShack sells one that's a perfect, ever so slightly tight fit.
