i made a enclosure for my desktop mill..... As the machine is in my computer room and I run it everyday.
My dyna 2400 weighs about 250 lbs so I've been looking for a sturdy surface about 3 - 4 feet high to set my mill on. I'd like to know what most of you guys out there have been doing with your mills.

Home built stand because I wanted to have my coolant system built in and room above for all the electronic when I get it CNC’d. Made using steel square tube frame and birch ply with four thick coats of paint.

John I love that mill ya got, I wish they sold it over here, that controller with the plastic pipe connecting it is kinda cheezy but overall thats one of my fav's.
So far I am very please with it, for the price I paid it has excellent spec’s comparable with a sX3 and nearly half the price. I can’t do a comparison on quality as I have never seen an X3 close up. I’m with you on the controller box but it will make no difference to the performance of the mill so it will do for me. The X3’s seem to have a good grip on the US market so I can’t see it being sold anytime soon over there. Maybe you could import one for your self direct.

Good ideas! Keep them coming.
John, What kind of work are you doing on your mill? I want to bring mine indoors and keep it in my office, but I think that the noise would be to excessive. I like the enclosure.

How's that.. 2in sq. x 1/4in wall steel tubing.
