Howdy, I'm in the market for a dekstop CNC Mill and would really like to see one of these things in person. If there's anyone in the Seattle are that would be willing to have me over to check their machine out, I'd greatly appreciate it. I'd even be willing to bring a cool little engraved item for ya in return. ![]() I'm in North Bend; therefore, anything within reason would work just fine for me and anytime. I'm mainly looking at the Taig or X2 machine. Thanks!!! -Ed |

If you have a harbor freight anywhere in your area, try that. They don't come CNC ready, but you'll get the idea. Here are a the stores around your area Washington BELLEVUE, WA 14506 NE 20TH ST Opening Soon! EVERETT,WA 5231 EVERGREEN WAY 425-513-6213 KENT, WA 18128 EAST VALLEY HWY 425-251-3107 LACEY,WA 4520 LACEY BLVD #30 360-493-0689 RICHLAND,WA 305 WELLSIAN WAY 509-946-8001 SPOKANE,WA 15312 SPRAGUE AVE BAY A 509-922-2495 TACOMA,WA 5401 6TH AVE #B407 253-759-5402 VANCOUVER, WA 7809B NE VANCOUVER PLZ DR New Store! I was in the same boat, and just went to the store. I'm the same way about buying stuff, you have to see it and hold it before you buy it. I ended up with the micro mill, and then about a year later I made it a CNC. I'm eventually going to buy a bigger machine, but this will do for now. I'd learn the machine manually & tools first, after that I'd start learning Gcode. CNC takes a little to get use to, but after you get the hang of it you're home free. If you have any questions, let me know.Good luck! Chris

Ed, Hi! I have a video of my CNC Taig (2019CR-ER) cutting a pocket and a lithophane in Corian. If you PM your e-mail address you can download the video and take a look. I bought my machine from www.cartertools.com and added the stepper motors, computer, stepper motor drivers which saved money over buying the full CNC Taig. I think there are also videos on Nick Carter's site. There's some videos at www.deepgroove1.com as well. BTW - I'm in the Bothell/Mill Creek area. Justin

taig is cr2019 without the ER collet. but I have drill chuck and 3/8" end mill holder, as well as set of stock collet and small clamping kit. it has 280oz stepper with xylotex 3 axis drive with 24v PS. very clean except for few small scratchs and one small ding on the table. it has 1/4hp marathon motor. I may even have 1/8" end mill holder. If cash, I will let it go for 1100 picked up. it is mounted on aluminum plate. X2 has cncfusion ball screw kit. it also has belt drive upgrade. has 280oz stepper and xylotex/24v PS. just comes with drill chuck. (I am keeping the tooling for my new mill) I would like to get 1200 for this picked up. it is also mounted on aluminum plate. if you need a pc. I am willing to sell one that is on the taig with either machine for 100 bucks with monitor with mach 3 setup for the machine. I will post pic in the morning. thanks.

I'm not quite ready with a CNC mill yet, but I am pretty close to you (Snoqualmie Ridge). I have had an X2 for several years, but never quite got around to CNC'ing it. I used it to build a 20" x 34" router table that is a bit of fun. But I just last week picked up a Grizzly G0619 (Super X3) that I have a CNCFusion kit for, and I am getting ready to install the conversion. Give me a week or so and I might have something worth looking at. I'll probably be selling my old X2 as well (belt drive and inch leadscrew conversions)
