| Newbie here I've run a HAAS V-4 20Hp and I'm new to this it was fun playing with this machine. But now I want to make my own. How do I convert this model http://www.harborfreight.com/cpi/cta...emnumber=44991) to CNC.What X,Y,Z plans are offered or used, what will work, do you have photos of one you've already done with a similar Mini Mill. I do want to put this together. please give me a list of everything I need including the following servo, drivers, control box, power, hardware or wiring plans software, setup and so on. So, that i may calculate exact cost. thankyou in advance. thanks in advance Don |

Don There are many ways to approach it. Entry level is steppers and factory lead screws. Adjust for the backlash in your program that you use to run the machine. Look at Mach2mill for a program. Servos and ball screws are better, much better, but more $$$. Building your first one is an educational experience, and a treasure hunt all in one. You will be digging around for info and parts. If you get stalled shoot me an email I will help with what I can. |
