Mini mill base/xy table question

I recently got a great deal on a mini milling machine with a ton of goodies with it. The only minor issue that it does not have a base/X-Y table. Little machine Shop is backordered and I am waiting for a reply as to when they may have them back in stock. Would it be possible to get a flat steel plate such as 3/8" thick and then bolt the machine down to it with 123 blocks. Then bolt down a table such as this

in front of it? Hopefully that makes sense to some of you folks that run mills. If not I can re-explain it. Thanks for any help you can offer. akraven

Either of those would not seem to work. Could you explain more what you bought or could you provide a picture(s). If you can purchase the new upgraded table for the mini mill. Thats what the post about the MY CMPLETE X2 SETUP is all about. Its discussing the pro's and cons of the x2 if that is what you indeed have.

I have the head and column but not the base or x-y table. My column looks like this http://www.littlemachineshop.com/pro...ProductID=1766 with that green bracket on the bottom where the 3 bolts go. The previous owner sold off the base and x-y table like this one http://www.littlemachineshop.com/pro...ProductID=1765. Hope that makes it clearer. akraven

You could buy one of these or maybe get someone who is buying to sell you their base.
