I'm thinking about getting a small mill to play with, and hopefully convert to CNC later on. I was thinking of building one, but then came accross the X2 mini mill and thought I might be better off to just buy one. I also noticed someone here is selling one, but I don't know if it's worth shipping it over the border or not. Does anyone know where I can get the X2 or a similar mini mill, either new or used, in Canada? Thanks. |

| i guess if you look at the price at http://www.wttool.com/ and you take into account that + or - 150 pounds cost around 75U$D by fedex to ship and that you will pay aroud 120CAD for duty so... 499 + 75 U$D or 653.14CAD + 120CAD = 773.14CAD add in a slight margin for error you come to around 800CAD currency was converted using http://www.xe.com |

| Thanks. Wholesale Tools looks really well priced, and they ship to Canada. One more question - which type of tooling is more common, 3MT or R8? EDIT: I just searched the forum and it looks like the R8 is by far the most common. Thanks again. Last edited by Jester966; 10-16-2006 at 11:47 PM. |

| I wouldn't say R8 is "more common" than MT3 BUT R8 is MUCH better suited for milling, whereas Morse taper is for drilling. As far is importing goes, it is often easiest to go to a broker house and have them look after it complete, will cost an extra $50 but is worth it.
