im in uk, so i have no experience with these people, but http://www.lathemaster.com/ seem to get recommended a lot here, they dont list x3 on their website, but apparently its available by request, so maybe drop them a mail.

As far as i know syil doesnt have a US distributer yet, but the webpage is syil.com.cn, prices are not on the site, just drop the guy an email with what you want for a quote.

I don't think Bob at lathemaster handles the X3 anymore. The mills that look similar at HF and Griz are the X3 with the HF and Griz part numbers. Just look for the mill with the internal motor and around 1000USD. I'm sorry but I don't have the HFpart number but I think the griz is g0463 (925+85 shipping)!

The Grizzly part number is G0463 - this is their version of the X3. I ordered mine and had it within 4 days. You can get it at www.grizzlyindustrial.com

you can view the specs side-by-side at http://www.superx3.com

the one with the lcd is the superx3 which isn't offered in the us (yet).

hope this helps.

I don't know if you need a superx3 if your planning on cnc'ing the mill.

This is the x3 sold by Grizzly.
http://www.grizzly.com/products/G0463

I think grizzly lists a slightly longer table, they offer a year warranty, and fixed cheap shipping cost.

I think HF's warranty is 30 days. I don't know how their shipping is on their machines.

Just something to keep in mind.

I bought one 2 weeks ago or so. Ordered it on monday, and got it on weds.

I haven't really played with it much, but it looks like a fairly solid little machine. Conversion to ballscrew should be super easy on the x and z axis. I need to take a closer look at the y axis. Looks like you should be able to get almost 8inches of travel on the y, 16 or a lil bit more on the x. And the z I haven't played, but there's a good bit there also.

All in all, I'm pretty happy with it's accuracy/fit/finish out of the box.

I have a little bit of backlash in the screws/handles, but nothing compared to what I had in the x2 when I bought it.
