    IMService Servoes and ?? board

It looks like I'm gonna buy the servoes from a member here, but a board isn't included to interface the individual controllers with the PC...

Servoes operate off of 30V DC...Does this matter?

I was looking at a board from Here, should that be used?

The 3 servoes interface individually with these.

What board should I get to control the servoes?

Sounds like you have the servos and drives, but are looking for a breakout board?

If you plan on using DeskCNC software, then you'd use their step generator board.

If you plan on using TurboCNC or Mach3, then any of the many available breakout boards should work fine.

Thanks for the reply, Yes, I will have the drives and servoes. I will be using Mach3 to handle the output.

I like the Sound Logic one, is it a 4-axis? It says in the manual on their site that it controls X, Y, Z, and an AUX motor...Is that AUX motor the 4th axis?

    Thanks again

Either a 4th axis or a slaved axis, or even a step/direction spindle. Any 4th motor you want to use.

Not to beat a dead horse, but I am very close to ordering a board- I am indeed going with the IMService servo kit, it includes both the servo motors and their controllers, now I need a 4-axis servo breakout board.

I will be using Mach3 to control the system

    Burn,,

If you buy the complete system from IMService, You get the controller board, servo driver boards and motors. I don't think you need a breakout board because the controller in this kit is designed for desk cnc software. This software license is also included with the package deal I believe. The drivers are 30v rated and the system works best with the power supply kit also available from them for about $ 50. This controller connects to your PC with a serial 9 pin cable, or a usb if you have no serial output. If you want to run Mach3 software,, don't buy the complete kit.... Just buy the motors, power supply and servo boards... You should then connect the PC using a breakout board with a parallel cable. Just the step and direction output will go to the servo boards. Other controll functions will wire to the machine sensors and to relays via the breakout board.. I have several production machines running on the IMServe hardware / software and have a good handle on using it, and will be happy to assist you in getting things running.

    Thanks!

I was planning on buying the kit that does not include the DeskCNC board and software- I want to run it with Mach3 and a separate breakout board.

I think I am trying to decide between the PMDX or the SoundLogic Breakout Board Plus- Any thoughts there?

Mini-IO from us is on sale this month. Buy MACH3 from us at normal price ($159.00) and get the 4 axis breakout card with 4 buffered outputs, 5 isolated inputs and dual ground power supply for just 10.00 bucks. Normal price is $57.00 and that includes the power supply.

The Mini-io is expandable with a Charge Pump option, Step & Dir LEDs and even a second port (2nd parallel port for more inputs) AND a new 20 function handwheel/pendant.
